Sarah at the doctor
[Sarah at the Secretary]
Patient: Good morning.
Secretary: (She smiles) welcome
madam.
Patient: I'm Sarah. I phoned
you yesterday and I made an appointment.
Secretary: (she looks at a
notebook) Sarah .... Yes this is your name. Sit in the waiting room please
until I invite you.
Patient: ok.
[Sarah at the doctor]
Doctor: Welcome Sarah.
Sarah: Thank you doctor.
Doctor: Sit down please. That’s
what you whimper?
Sarah: I’m not fine. For a
while I have trouble in breathing. This made my sleep intermittent. I am also
snorting and I no longer have hunger to eat and I feel depressed and tired.
Please help me doctor.
Doctor: Since when do you
have this sickness?
Sarah: Since a week soon?
Doctor: Are you exhausted?
Sarah: Yes! I sleep
difficulty as the pain of my paunch. I’m very wistful.
Doctor: Do you smoke?
Sarah: Yes
Doctor: If you are looking
for a drug, the first is to quit smoking. Because by continuing to smoke, drugs
will not be useful. Take off your jacket please I will inspect you.
[after examination]
Sarah: Is there something
dangerous, doctor?
Doctor: Until this moment
there is nothing dangerous, but if you continue with the lifestyle you live in,
your health will be very distressing. There are signs that must be taken as
alarms.
Sarah: Is there a cure for
my health? You can record me for a recipe of recumbent?
Doctor: Of course there is a
cure. But the basis of treatment is not medicine but the will to maintain
health. I will write you a doctor's prescription in which medicines relax you a
bit but I go back and say that the fundamental solution is to quit smoking.
Smoking is the reason for your problem.
Sarah: Talk is easy, doctor.
I tried to quit smoking many times but in vain.
Doctor: Try again with a
spirit of triumph. Don’t sacrifice your health.
Sarah: You're right, Doctor.
I will not give up easily this time and thank you.
Doctor: That's my duty. I
will give you an appointment two weeks later to confirm that you have stopped
smoking.
Sarah: Can you give me a
medical certificate?
Doctor: Of course. (Take a
paper and write on it).
Sarah: (She stands up)
Thanks doctor good bye.
Doctor: Good bye.
