"As a dog never let go of your bones"

The net formulation
You have to cling to your goals and never let go.
Meaning
The bone for the dog is a way to subsist. For animals their subsistence is the ultimate reason for existing. They live to live and exist to exist. On the contrary man does not live to enjoy food but to know and understand, otherwise to build civilization. He must cling to noble goals and sees them as his reasons for being exactly like the dog clinging to his bone.
The Why
1 / You must grab your goals because if you have now the courage and strength to defend them, it might that you will not find them in the future.
2 / It is a blessing to know his goals, his duties, his destination, his itinerary is a blessing. Some have not yet arrived at this level. So do not let go of the bridles, no regression.
3 / Having something that is defended give our life a value and a reason for being.
The How
By what means we realize our goals? By moral qualities: by perseverance, courage, earnestness, enthusiasm, modesty, compassion.
Our life is not a walk but a mission. It is a burden and we have no choice in front of us. We have to take responsibility.
Faced with duty, in front of what is necessary, we must be engaged, dogmatic. We must ignore any truth that hampers our projects and noble goals. Example: We all die! It's a truth. But to be haunted by this truth hampers our happiness and our work. That is why we must live as if we will never die.
