"Motivate is
to reverse the direction of energy"
François Proust (French)
It seems that this phrase is understood in
two ways:
1 / The lazy, in front of difficult
tasks, advances excuses. He justified his decision to
abandon and neglect. He shows his flight as wisdom. He
motivated when it is impregnated with energy and strength. Thus he replaces the
efficient and fruitful energy, by indolence, inactivity, laziness, indifference
and indolence. We can conclude that he killed that energy and reversed its
direction.
2 / Contrary to what was said
earlier, motivate a good decision or a good deed means to
reinforce our energy and determination. Here we reverse the direction of
energy from disorder, doubt, thought to action and implementation.
Finally: Is “motivate” a good or bad
action? Motivating a decision is a good fact if this decision is in favor of
progress and success, and it is a bad fact if the decision paralyzes overwhelms us.
