“Happiness is an incredible commodity every time we give it, it comes back to us multiple”
In general, each donation
entails a loss for the donor and a gain for the person we give him. The first
loses something and the second finds something. But it seems that the only
thing we do not lose when we give it is to make others happy. The candle does
not lose its flame, its light or its halo when it lights other things.
Moreover, we will be happy when we make others happy.
An objector may object: can
we make others happy without losing something: money, food, clothes...? This is
true to a certain extent, but for the rich man to give a few cents does not
impoverish him but delight a beggar. The value of the things we give is
limited, even insignificant, but it is high for the beggar. In addition,
sometimes just a few words that cost nothing make others happy. What does a
mother expect of his absent son, more than a telephone call or a message that
reassures her? And what does the lover expect of the person he loves more than
an exchange of love? And what does the innocent accused expect of the judge
more than the declaration of his acquittal? And what does the polite son expect
of his parents more than encouragement and satisfaction?
